IAMSAM Go for Gold for Girls

Project G4G4G was conceptualized to be a 6-week entrepreneurial program in public schools to create meaningful and sustainable enterprises through entrepreneurial lectures, hands-on mentorship, and the IAMSAM Prevent-to-Empower Protocol for values formation and character building. The pilot was held at the Pedro E Diaz High School, Muntinlupa City every Saturday: January 14, 21, 28, February 4, 11 and 18, 2017 from 830 am – 4 pm with 40 Grade 9 female students and 7 groups. Issa Colmenares, Project G4G4G Proponent handled the skills building training (Theory of Change, Business Model Canvas, Product Design, Marketing, Finance and Resource Management, Elevator Pitching, etc. ) while Rayla Melchor Santos handled PEP values formation and character building, i.e. Self-Worth, Confidence, Mental Strength, among others. Rayla supported Issa in educating and inspiring the young girls to collaborate, get creative, be mentored and gain confidence.

The last Saturday was called The Final Pitch wherein the pre-qualified groups were tasked to present their social enterprise in front of a panel of esteemed judges and pick one winning group with the best product and presentation. The judges were: Rebecca Bustamante, Asia CEO President; Lolly Tiu, owner of Zong, Jonas Catering and the creator of “Pares”; Carmi De-Leon, SVP, Healthway and Angie Conti-Martinez, Conti’s Restaurant and Bakeshop.

Rayla is proudest of the femtorship established between Issa and herself during the Project G4G4G process where knowledge, skills, experiences, perspectives and values between the two were shared.
